FIRMWARE UPDATE instructions
---------------------------------------

READ THESE NOTES
-----------------
- IMPORTANT! Before proceeding with the PC260/PC240 Rel. 2.0 firmware update you must have the PRONET Rel. 2.0 control software correctly installed in your PC. Check also that the USB connection with the processor to be updated is correctly working.

- Read the PC240/PC260 User's Manual and the PRONET User's Manual before starting the firmware update procedure. In the "firmware update" sections of both manuals you will find the procedures to activate the update process.

- A memory reset must be performed on the processor after the firmware update. For this reason, we suggest you to save the existing presets that you want to keep using the "Save" command in the PRONET software before updating the PC240/PC260 firmware. DATA files (.pcf) saved with PRONET Rel. 1.0 or 1.1 are compatible with PRONET Rel. 2.0. If you have DATA files saved with previous PRONET versions, you can load them into your devices using the LOAD file function of PRONET 2.0.

IMPORTANT!
-----------------
You should DISABLE any SCREEN SAVER and POWER SAVER in your PC before proceeding with the update procedure, because they could interfere with the procedure and block it. In case this happens and the procedure is not correctly completed, the processor will remain in FIRWARE UPDATE status: you just need to START AGAIN and COMPLETE the update procedure for making the processor running normally.

UPDATING PROCEDURE
--------------------------------

1 - Switch on the PC260/PC240 processor, press the "SETUP" button on the front panel and enter the "Setup Miscellaneous" menu page.

2 - Select the USB connection mode ("COMM MODE" parameter).

3 - Using the "PG UP" button go to page "SETUP FIRMWARE UPDATE" and press "SETUP" button to activate the firmware update state. Now your PC260/PC240 processor is ready to receive the firmware update data.

4 - Connect your PC with a USB cable to the PC260/PC240 processor's USB input connection.

5 - Start the PRONET software application and go ONLINE. After the initial Network Scan procedure your connected PC260/PC240 processor will be detected and it will be shown in the Device Tree Window with a blue background: this means that the processor is in "Firmware Update Mode".

6 - In the PRONET application open the "Device Control Panel" and then the "Edit Panel" for the connected device. Select the "Setup" page and open the "Update Firmware" dialog panel.

7 - In the "Update Firmware File" section select the correct firmware file (*.fwr) located in the PC260_rxx or PC240_rxx folder of the downloaded .zip package (where xx means the release number).

8 - Start the update firmware procedure and wait the end of the entire programming process. Please, don't switch off or disconnect the connected device while the update process is running. The update procedure will take several minutes (about 30 min.), so be patient.

9 - At the end of the update procedure, go offline in the PRONET application and switch off the remote device.

10 - Switch on the PC240/PC260 processor while pressing the "ESC" button to perform a "Memory reset" operation and to enable the new firmware.
